據了解,厚度越薄的玻璃,其鋼化難度越大,而目前市面上能鋼化的高應力防火玻璃最薄是5mm,高硼硅玻璃最薄則為6mm。除了玻璃本身的厚度,高應力防火玻璃的鋼化還受限于鋼化設備的寬度,設備越寬,生產高應力防火玻璃的難度越大,因此市面上普遍都是2米寬的設備。
